Organisations and Users
Gallium's organizational structure enables multiple users to collaborate within shared workspaces. Gallium allows you to share access to an organisation with multiple users.
Key Structural Elements
Organizations as Containers: Hypervisors, templates, and virtual machines exist within organizational boundaries and cannot be transferred between organizations.
User Accounts: User profiles operate at a system-wide level, meaning credentials, authentication settings, and account information remain consistent across all organizations a person accesses.
Role-Based Access Control
The platform implements two permission tiers:
- Owner — This role grants comprehensive organizational control, including user management capabilities.
- User — This tier provides access to infrastructure resources (hypervisors, templates, and virtual machines) but excludes administrative functions. The User role allows access to Hypervisors, Templates, and Virtual Machines but cannot add or update other users.
This structure accommodates technicians working across multiple business units or organizational divisions by allowing quick role switching without requiring separate account management.
