Core Concepts

Here are the fundamental components of Gallium:

Gallium Console: This is the cloud-based platform where you manage your Gallium Hypervisors and their respective workloads. The Console offers a single pane of glass to manage and monitor your workloads anywhere in the world.

Gallium Hypervisor: The Gallium Hypervisor is a bare metal operating system that can be deployed onto any server when you want to deploy workloads.

Templates: These are template Virtual Machines, combining configuration and disk images, stored in the cloud and deployed to the Hypervisor as needed. Templates are supplied by Gallium for a number of popular operating systems or created by the customer for their specific workloads.

Getting Started

To begin using Gallium, follow these steps:

  1. Deploy a Gallium Hypervisor: Choose a compatible server or computer and deploy a Gallium Hypervisor on it. This will be the base for your workloads.

  2. Add Hypervisor to Gallium Console: Once the Hypervisor is deployed, you will need to connect it to your account in Gallium Console. This will allow you to manage and monitor the Hypervisor and its workloads from the cloud.

  3. Create Templates: If you have specific needs for your workloads, create templates that cater to those needs. Alternatively, you can also use the pre-built Gallium templates. These templates will speed up the process of deploying VMs on the Hypervisor.

  4. Deploy Templates as Virtual Machines: Once the templates are ready, you can deploy them as virtual machines onto your Hypervisors.

By following these steps, you can quickly start managing your workloads using Gallium.
