Gallium License Programs

Gallium offers several license programs, designed to fit different ways customers use the platform. Whether you're running production infrastructure, building a hosting business, or learning at home, there's a program that fits.

How Licensing Works at Gallium

Licensing in Gallium is organized around your Gallium Organization; the top-level container for your infrastructure on the platform. Each organization runs under a single license program, and every product you deploy within it (Cluster, Edge, Standalone, Container Engine) shares that program.

The program determines your level of support, account management, billing terms, and feature access. Keeping a single program across an organization means that relationship is consistent: you get the same support response, the same billing approach, and the same features everywhere you deploy.

Licensing is typically purchased through a local Partner who can provide you with services and hardware to complete your deployment.

Commercial Programs

Enterprise

Enterprise is our standard production license. Each Gallium product is licensed per unit (per hypervisor, per container engine, etc.) on a co-terminated subscription, purchased through our partner network. You get predictable costs, partner-led implementation, and full access to standard features.

Enterprise Flex

Enterprise Flex extends Enterprise with two kinds of flexibility; how you pay, and extra features you can deploy.

Commercially, you can choose either co-terminated licenses or monthly consumption billing, whichever fits how your business runs. On the product side, Flex unlocks features that we recommend deploying alongside an active support relationship — capabilities like vGPUs, advanced cluster topologies, and the certified hardware program. These features are evolving quickly, and the support that comes with Flex is what makes them deployable in production with confidence.

Flex includes options for a named support manager, priority support response, and direct access to our engineering team when you need it. Like Enterprise, it's purchased through our partner network and applies across your entire organization.

Service Provider

Service Provider is built for hosting providers and managed service providers running Gallium on behalf of their own customers. It's billed by consumption of running workloads rather than infrastructure, which aligns with how providers bill their own customers; you pay for what your customers actually run.

Service Provider includes the same elevated support and feature access as Enterprise Flex.

Essentials

Essentials is built for small businesses running production workloads at modest scale.

Non-Commercial Programs

Insider

Insider is a paid program for individual practitioners; community members, user group attendees, conference participants, and anyone who wants a real, supported way to learn Gallium.

Insider includes best-effort support through our standard in-app chat. It's licensed for non-production use including labs, learning, evaluation, and personal projects.

Community

Community is our free license for evaluation, learning, and homelab use. Access to most products are available but community does not include a support channel.

Community is licensed for non-production use only.
