Configuration During Installation
Once the install code appears on your server's screen, return to the Gallium Console to configure the deployment. The server will wait until you complete configuration and trigger the installation.
Enter the Install Code
On the same page where you downloaded the installer (Deployments → New Deployment → Standalone), scroll down to the Enter Install Code section.
- Enter the install code displayed on your server's screen.
- Optionally, provide a Hypervisor Name to identify this server. If left blank, a default name will be assigned.
Click Adopt Server to proceed. The Console will connect to the server and retrieve its hardware details.
Deployment Name
Choose a name for this deployment. This is the name that will appear in the Gallium Console to identify this Standalone deployment.
Installation Disk
Select the disk where Gallium Standalone will be installed. The Console displays all eligible disks with their model, serial number, size, and bus type (SATA, NVMe, SAS).
Disks must be at least 240 GB. The Console automatically hides disks that are not suitable for installation, including USB devices, CD/DVD drives, virtual loop devices, and read-only disks.
The selected installation disk will be completely erased. Make sure you select the correct disk and that any important data has been backed up.
Network Configuration
Select one or more network interfaces to configure. The Console shows each NIC's name, MAC address, model, carrier status (Up/Down), and link speed.
For each selected interface, choose a configuration mode:
DHCP (Default) — The interface will obtain its IP address automatically from your network's DHCP server. No additional configuration is needed.
Static IP — Provide the following:
- IP Address — In CIDR notation (e.g.
192.168.1.100/24) - Gateway — The default gateway address (e.g.
192.168.1.1)
At least one network interface must be configured.
Interfaces that are not connected (carrier status "Down") cannot be selected.
Review and Install
Before installation begins, the Console shows a summary of your configuration:
- Deployment name
- Installation disk (model and size)
- Selected network interfaces and their configuration (DHCP or static IP)
Disk Erasure Confirmation
You must explicitly confirm erasure for each disk that will be affected by the installation. Check the Erase checkbox next to each listed disk. If the server has an existing installation, all conflicting disks will be flagged and must also be confirmed.
Disk erasure cannot be undone. All data on confirmed disks will be permanently destroyed.
Click Start Installation to begin. The installer will run on the server and the Console will redirect you to a status page where you can monitor progress.
