ISOs
ISOs are virtual CD/DVD images that can be attached to a virtual machine. They are commonly used for operating system installation media, driver disks, or recovery tools. You manage ISOs from the ISOs tab on the VM's detail page.
How ISOs Are Added
ISOs are included as part of templates. When you download a template that includes an ISO, the ISO is cached on your server and becomes available in the ISO library. There is no separate upload mechanism; ISOs enter the system through template downloads.
tip
To make an ISO available, download a template that includes it. The ISO will appear in the ISO library once the template download completes.
Attach an ISO
- On the ISOs tab, click Attach ISO.
- Select an ISO from the Select ISO dropdown.
- Optionally, check Set Bootable to make the ISO the boot device.
- Click Attach ISO.
Detach an ISO
- Click Remove next to the attached ISO.
- Confirm the removal.
This removes the virtual CD/DVD device and the ISO from the VM.
Setting an ISO as Boot Device
To boot from an attached ISO, you can either:
- Check Set Bootable when attaching the ISO.
- Click Set Boot Disk on an already-attached ISO from the ISOs tab.
