Inviting Users
Add teammates to your organization by inviting them by email. Everything to do with inviting and managing members happens in the Gallium Console at Settings > Users, where you can send invitations, choose what each person can do, and track who has accepted. Sign in at https://console.gallium.cloud to get started.
Sending an Invitation
Inviting someone takes only a few moments. You enter their email address, choose the role they should have, and send the invitation; they then receive an email to set up their access.
- Open Settings > Users.
- Click Invite User.
- In the modal, enter the user's Email.
- Choose a Role by clicking one of the two cards: User (the default) or Owner. The role you pick determines what the person can do once they join, so see Roles and Permissions if you're unsure which to choose.
- Click Invite User.
A User Invitation Sent confirmation appears, and the invited person shows up in the Users list with a Pending Invite badge until they accept.
Accepting an Invitation
How someone accepts depends on whether they are new to Gallium or already have an account. Both paths start from the invitation you sent, but they end up in slightly different places.
New Users
A brand-new invitee receives an email with a link to a Create Account page. There they set their Name and a Password (a minimum of 8 characters), and are then taken to sign in. Once they sign in, they become an active member of your organization.
Existing Gallium Users
Someone who already has a Gallium account accepts from their own profile rather than from an email link. They:
- Open their profile, also called User Settings.
- Go to the Pending Invites tab, which lists any invitations to join other organizations.
- Click Accept next to your organization.
They see an Invitation Accepted message confirming they've joined.
Managing Pending Invitations
You can keep an eye on outstanding invitations from the same Users list you used to send them. A pending invitation shows as Pending Invite in the Role column, and Last Login reads Never until the person first signs in. If an invitation lapses before it's accepted, the badge changes to Invite Expired.
There's no resend or revoke button for invitations. To cancel a pending invitation, remove the person using the same Remove User action you'd use for any existing member; see Removing a User for the steps.
Organizations that use Single Sign-On do not invite members through the Console. Members are provisioned automatically from the identity provider and appear under SSO Users.
