Getting Started

Core Concepts

Gallium comprises three fundamental components:

Gallium Console — The cloud-based platform where you manage your Gallium Hypervisors and their respective workloads. It provides centralized oversight across global deployments.

Gallium Hypervisor — A bare metal operating system that can be deployed onto any server when you want to deploy workloads.

Templates — Template Virtual Machines, combining configuration and disk images, stored in the cloud and deployed to the Hypervisor as needed. Both vendor-supplied and customer-created options exist.

Getting Started

Follow these four steps to get up and running with Gallium:

  1. Deploy a Gallium Hypervisor — Install the hypervisor on a compatible server to serve as your workload foundation.

  2. Add Hypervisor to Gallium Console — Connect your deployed hypervisor to your cloud account for remote management and monitoring capabilities.

  3. Create Templates — Develop custom templates for specific requirements or leverage pre-built Gallium templates to expedite VM deployment.

  4. Deploy Templates as Virtual Machines — Once configured, deploy templates as virtual machines onto your hypervisors.

Following these steps enables you to quickly start managing your workloads using Gallium.
